FactMeter is a fact-verification initiative dedicated to uncovering misconceptions and combating the widespread wave of misinformation and disinformation across various media platforms. We focus on social and political issues that often become sources of public confusion and deception, with the primary goal of fostering a more informed and critical society in processing information. This project was first initiated on November 19, 2023, in the city of Surabaya. As part of a pilot project within the master’s curriculum at Airlangga University, FactMeter has since transformed into a significant platform shaping public opinion based on facts. The features we provide at FactMeter are designed not only to deliver reliable fact-checking but also to facilitate dialogue and active participation from the community.
